Synthetic Turf Internationals NP45Golfers understand the most important aspect of the game is putting. All one has to do is switch on the golf channel or an internet search and hundreds if not thousands of putting gadgets fill the screen. No gadget, whatever the promise, can beat practice, just good old fashioned hands on practice. Every avid golfer would practice night and day if it were easy and convenient. That’s what this customer in Stony Point, North Carolina told us when we were at his house 3 months ago installing Synthetic Turf in his front yard. I gave him a flyer from our distributer, Synthetic Turf International, detailing how we could install a custom synthetic turf putting green in his yard and he could practice whenever he wanted. He said he would clear a spot and call us in a few months. We told him to check out our website, particularly the putting green galleries for some ideas and to call us with any questions. He built a nice concrete pad and had some rock work done to the outside to match his log cabin.

We returned to find the site in excellent shape and installed Synthetic Turf Internationals NP45 Nylon putting green turf. We opted for this turf because of its natural roll characteristics and realistic green speeds. Since the turf was on concrete we did a solid glue down to prevent any wrinkles in the sun. We used SynLok Adhesives Turf Claw 75 adhesive with a 1/8 inch v-notch trowel. We trimmed and average of 6 inches of three sides in seemed in SoftLawn Kentucky Blue Plus fringe and a small rough section in one corner to give the area some depth and it really made the green pop.
Lastly, we cut out the four regulation holes, two in each end, and installed four “push-n-putt” flags. I mention the holes being regulation because when the owner was not around his wife tried to talk us into making them smaller just so she could “watch the show”. However tempting it was, we stuck to the regulation size holes and cups.

The synthetic putting green turned out great and most importantly the customer was happy. Synthetic Turf International offers many types of putting green surfaces to choose from for indoor or outdoor use. These are the same greens used by professionals across the country. Professionals like the 2008 Masters Champion Trevor Immelman who says, “I have putted on many synthetic surfaces and yours stands out among the all. The consistency rivals the best greens we play on the tour”.

World renSoftLawn Kentucky Blue Plusowned golf teaching professional David Leadbetter loves STI’s putting greens. “STI delivers a putting surface that resembles a high quality grass green. The difference is their surface remains the same the entire year, irrespective of water.
